HOPEHIV, a non-profit organisation that helps African children who have been orphaned by AIDS, has recently launched its newly developed website based on WORKSsitebuilder.

HOPEHIV clearly recognise the benefits that an attractively designed, intuitively structured, search engine optimised website with online donations capabilities offers to a charity. Prior to approaching eShopworks however HOPEHIV were failing to take full advantage of the opportunities that the internet provides. Their website proved costly to maintain as all updates had to be made through their web agency. HOPEHIV needed a non-technical solution that would allow their employees to take full control of authoring their site content without compromising accessibility, search engine rankings or the design of the site.

The new HOPEHIV website has been developed to meet all these requirements. HOPEHIV employees now have full control of all site content. Intuitive content wizards allow users to add content, MetaData and all required accessibility mark up in a structured and enforced way. The website meets all WAI W3C and Bobby accessibility standards and has been built using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) throughout whilst still retaining the distinctly African ‘look-and-feel’ that the charity required. The site has been fully integrated with NetBanx to provide a secure online donations facility.

eShopworks’ WORKSsitebuilder solution has provided HOPEHIV with a fully featured, affordable web content management system that has ended their reliance on their web agency to update their site. HOPEHIV employees can now add and update content as they require improving the quality of the website content and saving the charity money. The HOPEHIV website acts as an important channel for raising awareness of the work carried out by the charity and will help to boost the charity’s revenue generation over time.
