LOMBARD GATX CASE STUDY

Client
Lombard GATX, part of the Lombard group of companies, deliver end to end technology leasing services from procurement through to disposal.

Brief
The brief from Lombard GATX was to provide full content management facilities, and a client extranet for the outward facing intenet site.  Full adherence to existing corporate design guidelines was required to provide visual consistency across the Lombard group of websites. Further requirements included;

  • Content contribution to areas of the website restricted to particular departments, but with centralised editing and publishing.
  • To remove the onus from IT of keeping the existing website upto date and free them up to manage more relevant tasks
  • A full client extranet with additional account management and contact enhancements
  • Full website user metrics to replace the existing Webtrends service
  • A system that met the exacting service levels required by the Lombard GATX IT department

The Solution
WORKSsitebuilder met and exceeded all of Lombard GATX's requirements. The basic content management infrastructure was implemented and the front-end site templates were created 'to the pixel' of the existing design guidelines.

The detailed permissions and workflow afforded by WORKSsitebuilder has allowed non-technical staff within Lombard GATX the ability to provide content to their specific areas of the website, whilst central control is maintained to guarantee the integrity and consistency of published information.

The client extranet was created with the ability to add customer, or group of customer wide targeted special offers, and add individual pages with service offerings and order histories on a client by client basis.  Furthermore account manager details were integrated on a client by client basis.

The full user tracking and statistics integrated into the WORKSsitebuilder product have met Lombards user metrics requirements, and negated the need to use expensive third party products for website user tracking.

The robust and scalable nature of the WORKSsitebuilder product has proven a success within Lombard GATX IT department, to date the strict service level agreement offered with this hosted WORKSsitebuilder solution has been more than fulfilled.
